In today’s episode, I’m sharing a change that has been quietly taking shape: the podcast and newsletter have a new name. It all started when I noticed that the words my clients and listeners kept using were pointing to something I hadn’t fully articulated yet.
I’ll tell you the story of how the new name came to be, what it reveals about how I think about building a business, and the concept that now ties all my offerings together.
There’s a new metaphor in town, and it might just change how you see your business. Curious? Come listen.

TRANSCRIPT
[0:45] Hi there! Welcome to Making Maps. Yeah, you heard it right. I changed the name of the podcast and of my newsletter, too. Because, you know, at some point in August, I felt like Inner Impact wasn’t the right name anymore. I realized it sounded a bit too vague and it didn’t fit well within my business ecosystem anymore. I mean, I still guide my clients through inner work to create a positive impact for themselves, for their businesses, and for the collective good. But in the past few months, I have started using different terms to talk about this. You know, words and metaphors that came to me through the own voice of my clients and newsletter readers or podcast listeners like you.
[1:37] So hearing all of you say that I’m helping you trust your inner guidance to make aligned decisions for your work helped me craft my personal compass concept. In my ecosystem, your personal compass is your living decision-making framework for aligning actions with your inner truth. You know, your values, your principles, your inner wisdom, what guides you in life. And I’m aware that it is nothing new or disruptive, but it’s a good way to illustrate and explain my approach and to offer you and my clients an actionable metaphor to work with.
[2:19] So a few months later, I realized that somehow unconsciously, all the names and ideas I was using for my offerings seemed to revolve around a journey and exploration metaphor, just like the Compass. You know, think about the exploration trip, my longer coaching engagement, or the joyful impact summer camp, for example. You know, then I sat down to map my business ecosystem, putting together my offerings and channels, which is a practice that I learned from Amelia Hruby of the Off the Grid Podcast. And looking at it, I realized that in a sea of explorations, journeys, camps and groves, inner impact didn’t make much sense anymore as the name of my podcast and newsletter. So, I played with a few new ideas until I settled on making maps. You know, as soon as I jotted it down, it just felt right.
[3:23] Because what we are doing while building our businesses and our creative work is all about charting our own paths, pointing in the direction we dream of, our vision, and creating the trail to get there. It can be bumpy, it can be messy, it can be rough at times, but it is our trail. We want it to look like us, to feel like us.
[3:53] We don’t want to follow someone else’s map. We might use it as inspiration, then stray from it to go down our own trail. That’s why we are making maps. We are map makers. We are cartographers of our own messy yet aligned business adventure. Each step is an experiment and a way to practice trusting our inner guidance. And our personal compass is the tool that helps us create and walk our path. And I can be your guide in using your personal compass when you need some support in creating work that feels aligned, that feels alive, that feels spacious. So here on Making Maps, we explore what it means to build fulfilling work that nurtures you and energizes you. We talk about creativity, capacity, decision-making, and meaningful work, sharing insights from my coaching practice and my own experience as a business owner.
[4:58] Each episode is a space to tune in and hear what’s coming up for you, to sort out what’s empowering from what’s burdening you, and to decide which direction you want to take your business and creative work so they keep inspiring and supporting you rather than feeling exhausting or feeling dull or feeling off.
[5:20] Well, I’m not sure if you noticed, but I’m really excited about this renewed clarity and direction. You know, I hope you are too and that you will stick around. Also, speaking of exciting new things, I am bringing back my free monthly gatherings with a new structure and a new name. So allow me to introduce the Compass Circles, of course, a space for you to reflect, to connect, to share, and to set intentions to step forward in the next cycle of your business and creative work. I will be hosting them on Fridays around the new moon, and we’ll also use Oracle cards to weave some magical inspiration into our gatherings. And the first circle is this Friday at 11 a.m central time and you will find the link to check all the details and sign up in the show notes. I hope to see you there but before we meet there and before we wrap up let me offer you a reflection prompt to tune in sort out what comes up for you and maybe step forward. So take a moment to picture the map you’re crafting for your work. What do you notice? What pops up? What’s hiding in plain sight? And where do you feel curious to explore?
[6:46] Okay, that’s it for today. Thank you for spending some time with me. I will see you at the Compass Circle, I hope, and for sure, I will see you in the next episode.
