๐ŸŽ† Stuck in overabundance of ideas

Today’s episode is a quick check-in from my desk to yours. A voice note where I sit with you in the messy middle, where there’s a lot brewing, shifting, and drifting, plus a sense of stuckness while waiting for the new path to form. I hope this holds space for anyone else who recognizes that swirling uncertainty.

[0:45] Hi there, how are you doing today? Today’s episode is going to be a short one. I just need to declare that I am stuck because of overabundance of ideas and maybe a little, misalignment, probably. What I mean by that is that I’ve almost finished my market research, and I’m starting to have a lot of ideas for my, you know, for

[1:27] the new positioning of my work and for my new group offering above all, but also about realigning my one-on-one coaching engagements. And I just want to go down that rabbit hole. I just want to sit at my desk or lay down on my yoga mat, and stare at the ceiling and think about that, all those ideas, all those words that are coming up for me, all those things that I want to explore that right now are starting to feel slightly misaligned with what I’ve been creating so far. So yesterday when I was talking with my therapist, I described that, you know, I said.

[2:27] The ice drift has started because I felt like I’m, you know, right now I am on one sea ice piece that’s moving apart from the other one where my current work sits. And so I feel like I’m moving towards something different, and I just want to go there. And so I’m stuck about creating this podcast and this newsletter, as I already said in, I guess, a couple of episodes ago, but for a different reason, because right now I feel like I need to realign the podcast and the newsletter to, to this new direction that I’m going toward. And so it feels like my mind is, is feeling very scattered.

[3:30] With a lot of ideas bouncing around and exploding like fireworks and me that I want to catch them all. And I’m like, where does this podcast, you know, fit this new ecosystem? And the irony is that just before starting all this repositioning work, at the beginning of September, at the end of August, beginning of September, I had decided to, you know, work and realign the concept of the podcast. I changed its name and it felt like it was fitting well. And then I started this work of repositioning, and now it feels like I need to, you know, redo everything.

[4:30] And so, yeah, there’s, that’s, that’s it. I am stuck with content for the past iteration of my business, and I’m stuck because I don’t have yet enough clarity on the next iteration of my business to create content that goes in that direction, if that makes sense. And I guess that I wanted to share this in an episode. Well, of course, to acknowledge that and to be witnessed, but also to hold space for you in case you are feeling like that, or maybe you had a similar experience in the past and it resonates with you and I just wanted to…

[5:20] Probably normalize this. Because I guess that what we are conditioned to think is that, self-employment is a smooth sail following a straight line from A to B, where A is your starting point and B is where you are wildly successful. And of course, success depends on how you define it. But it’s not a smooth sail. It’s not a straight line. It’s a lot of looping circles. And sometimes you don’t even know what the heck you are doing. It’s a big experimentation. and I guess it’s not for the faint of heart. So kudos to all of us doing this because that’s not easy.

[6:18] And so that’s it for today. Thank you so much for sticking with me with this kind of weird declaration. Hey guys, I’m working on getting unstuck, but I am feeling stuck about repositioning my work about getting unstuck. Yay! Okay.

[6:40] Well, thanks again for spending some time with me today. I hope this makes sense because I’m not going to record it again. I decided, you know, to record this as a voice note to a friend and I want this to be it. And I hope that you can find something among my words that can support you or hold space for you or spark something in you. Bye-bye, talk soon.
