[0:29] Hi there, welcome or welcome back to Inner Impact and to the third episode of the mini series In 2026, you don’t need any more advice. So if you’ve been following along, you know that in the first episode, we explored why seeking and taking advice might not be the most effective way to make decisions for your business right now. And then in the second episode, we talked about the concept of the personal compass and how it’s this multi-dimensional living tool that can guide you in a way no external advice ever could.
[1:05] So today, we are going to take it a step further. We are going to explore the signs that it might be time to stop seeking advice and start looking inward, to reconnect with your personal compass and trust its guidance. And also, we will talk about how your personal compass can help you break free from the overwhelm and overwork loop that so many of us business owners and creatives find ourselves in. Okay, let’s start with the main overarching sign that it’s time to stop seeking advice. You feel like something is off. So this is something that I hear from so many of my clients. They can’t always put it into words, but they know deep down that something isn’t right. Maybe you can relate. Maybe you’ve been working really hard, putting in so much effort, but you are not seeing the results you want in terms of, I don’t know, number of clients, projects, revenue, or else. Or maybe you are seeing those results, but they don’t feel as good as you thought they would. You are not enjoying the business you are building.
[2:18] It’s like you are spinning your wheels, like you are working harder and harder, but not really getting anywhere. You might even feel like you’re on a hamster wheel, running in circles, but never making progress. And of course, that is exhausting on all levels. Well, here’s the thing. When we feel stuck or like something is off, our natural instinct is often to do more. So you might think, maybe I just need to take another course, watch another webinar, or join another workshop. Maybe if I can just learn how to do X, then everything will fall into place. Sound familiar? But what happens when you’re already overwhelmed and frustrated, and then you add even more to your plate?
[3:10] Well you get even more tired, your brain starts to feel foggy, you cannot focus, you get irritable and more frustrated, and because you are so tired you can’t follow through on all the advice you are seeking so you are basically back to square one but more exhausted. It is a vicious cycle. You are not getting the results you want and you are burning yourself out in the process. And when the results you want to achieve are all about bringing your meaningful, impactful work to life, it hurts even more not to see progress following your actions. Believe me, I hear you. But now, here is the part that might feel counterintuitive or even scary. The one thing that could actually help you break this cycle is to pause.
[4:03] And I know that taking a break can feel like a big no. You may feel like you’re giving up, you’re lazy, or you’re not doing enough. How many times have I heard this sentence, am I doing enough? You are probably thinking, how can I stop when I haven’t achieved the results that I want yet? But here is the truth. Pausing is not giving up. It is not lazy, and it’s not not doing enough. And it’s definitely not failure. Pausing is actually one of the most powerful things that you can do for yourself and your precious work. One of the most powerful things. Because when you take a break, you give yourself the chance to regenerate your energy, to reassess, to regroup and to restart. With a break, you allow your mind and your body to rest and restore capacity in whatever way works for you. And by that, I mean that rest looks very different for each of us. It could look like a power nap, a reading sprint, or a fit boxing class. They are all perfectly valid. The point is that when you are regenerated, you will be able to see more clearly and reconnect with your personal compass to make more aligned decisions.
[5:28] Also, a pause is not only about rest and regeneration. A pause is what allows you to quieten the outside noise. It allows you to listen inward and to connect with your wisdom. It’s what helps you to reassess the situation and also course correct if you need to. And a pause is what empowers you to take the time to make your decisions so you can take truly aligned actions.
[5:59] So think of it as a couple of breaths you take after someone asks you to schedule a coffee chat or send them a business proposal. It’s a space that you put between the demand and yourself, a space that allows you not to react, but act with intention and alignment and integrity to yourself.
[6:23] And, of course, I know that taking a break isn’t always easy. We have been conditioned by society, by our families, by so many external forces to believe that a break is something we have to earn, that we can only pause once we’ve achieved our goals or once we’ve done, quote-unquote, enough. But that’s not true. A break, whether it is about doing, being, or resting, is not a reward. It’s a necessity. And it is something that you deserve no matter where you are in your journey. It is your ancestral right. And this is where your personal compass comes in. When you have a practice of staying in conversation with the compass, you can start noticing when you need a break. And you can start trusting that you can allow yourself to take it. When you are in tune with yourself, you can recognize that continuing to push through isn’t serving you or your business. You can see that pausing isn’t just an option. It’s the best option.
[7:32] Okay, so if you’ve been feeling like you’ve been spinning your wheels lately, like you are stuck in that overwhelmed, muddy stage, let’s take a moment to pause together. And as usual, feel free to pause the episode to reflect on the prompts or come back to them later. And just know that you don’t have to have all the answers right now, but just asking these questions is a step toward breaking the cycle. Okay, if you like, and if you can, you can close your eyes or soften your gaze. If it feels good, you can also take a deep breath in through your nose and let it out slowly through your mouth. And okay, now ask yourself, how has my business been feeling lately? What do I and my business need in this moment?
[8:34] If I could give myself permission to pause, what would that look like and how would I use it? Hi, if you paused to reflect, welcome back. As we wrap up today’s episode, I want to leave you with this. Your personal compass is your guide, is your anchor, is your permission slip to work, create and live in a way that feels good to you. It is what helps you notice when you are stuck in the overwhelm, overwork loop and gives you the courage to pause, to rest, to reassess, and to restart. So, if you’ve been feeling like something is off, take it as a sign. A sign to stop seeking advice and start looking inward. A sign to trust yourself. And i want you to know this feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’re spinning your wheels doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong, it often means something in you or your business is asking for attention. And if you’d like support in listening to that signal and in reconnecting with your personal compass in a way that feels kind and sustainable you’re welcome to book a complimentary clarity session with me. It is a space to pause, to reflect, to see what support might look like for you right now. Thank you so much for listening today.
[10:02] In the next episode, we will explore why you don’t have to figure all this out on your own and how receiving support can actually strengthen, not replace your agency. Until then, keep tuning into your personal compass.
