✦ REFLECT & CONNECT
🌱 Sit, walk, or dance with these prompts:
- What is it costing you to keep going? Be as specific as you can. For example, what’s becoming harder to access: your creativity, your emotional regulation, your ideas, your presence with people you care about?
- If you waited until you truly “earned” replenishment, what would that look like? What milestone would finally be enough? And has that milestone ever actually arrived?
- What’s the smallest possible act of replenishment you could do today, not as a reward, but as maintenance and care? Something so small the voices don’t even notice.

TRANSCRIPT
[0:29] Hi there! How are things going? So, I took some time off last week and went to an anti-speciesist festival, and it felt amazing to be in community and, you know, have the chance to process together with like-hearted people our ethical and political views. Still, I am feeling like my executive functions are kind of melting because we are again in a heat wave. So I decided to take it slower than I planned this week, you know, to avoid pushing myself too hard and make some more room to replenish my capacity instead. Which brings me to today’s topic, which is all about one core concept I’d like to explore a little further to close this series of audio letters.
[1:23] But before we dive into it, I want to remind you that the registration for Joyful Impact Summer Camp is open until July 30th. So if you haven’t heard about camp before, you know, camp will happen in August and over four weeks of mainly asynchronous activities and connection, it will help you reclaim your creative joy so that by the full you feel resourced and excited to dive back into your work. So if you are eager to go from drained and depleted to inspired and energized, follow the camp link in the show notes, check all the details and join. I cannot wait to meet you there. Okay, so our audio letter series started with an observation. When we feel tired, we often forget and neglect what actually fuels us. Then we explore why that happens, what can break the pattern, and what supports you in breaking it. Well, today I will try to condense all this into one core concept, the one I truly hope will stay with you. Okay, so hear me out.
[2:43] You don’t need to wait until you’ve earned it to replenish your creativity and capacity. You don’t need to wait until you feel like you’ve done enough to replenish your creativity and capacity. You don’t need to wait until you’re burned out to replenish your creativity and capacity. Your creativity and capacity are key to your well-being, to your business’s flourishing and to the impact you’re craving to make. So replenishing them in an ongoing cycle is not an option and it’s definitely not a reward. It’s crucial. It’s a vital practice for your life, for your business and for your creative expression. And it’s how you enter the fall or any season of your business, whether literal or metaphorical, with that creative spark that lifts you up, that fills you with genuine fulfillment, and that propels your work forward in a way that’s meaningful and impactful and joyful. So if anything of this series stays with you, I want it to be this.
[4:04] Now, applying it to your day-to-day might not be easy. Sometimes that’s because you’ve been so disconnected from what energizes you that you have a hard time finding the right activities to restore your capacity and creativity. And that’s exactly what we will explore in week one and week two of Joyful Impact Summer Camp. But sometimes the biggest obstacles are those internalized, disempowering narratives that keep you stuck in the exploitation loop. The ones that tell you that you need to wait before you can engage in pleasurable activities. So that’s why the third week of camp is focused on uncovering what makes it so hard for you to make room for replenishing activities and on finding ways to overcome it in a gentle, compassionate way.
[5:00] So if you’ve been considering joining camp or if you’ve been wanting to interrupt the exploitation loop in any other way, but you feel like you just can’t because some voices in your mind are telling you that you need to keep going, that you can’t stop, I would like to offer you a couple of prompts that might help you let go of those voices.
[5:25] You can listen to them and let them marinate in the back of your mind, or you can start reflecting on them right away. Take your time. There’s no rush.
[5:35] Okay, first prompt. What is it costing you to keep going. Be as specific as you can here. For example, what’s becoming harder to access? Your creativity, your emotional regulation, your ideas, your presence with people you care about.
[5:54] Second prompt, if you waited until you truly earned replenishment, what would that look like? What milestone would finally be enough? And has that milestone ever actually arrived?
[6:09] Third prompt, what’s the smallest possible act of replenishment you could do today? Not as a reward, but as maintenance and care. Something so small, the voices don’t even notice.
[6:27] Again, take your time with these prompts and be kind to yourself as much as you can. They might stir up something in you so hold yourself with grace and care. Thank you so much for spending some time with me today. Talk soon.
